Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Hey Nellie, including our website at heynellie.app and the Hey Nellie mobile app. By creating an account or using Hey Nellie, you agree to these terms. If anything is unclear, email hello@heynellie.app.
Who we are
Hey Nellie is operated by Hey Nellie App Pte. Ltd., UEN 202621570E, registered at 20 Collyer Quay, #09-01, Singapore 049319 ("Hey Nellie", "we", "us"). When we say "the service", we mean the Hey Nellie app, website, and the systems they connect to.
If you download Hey Nellie from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to the app licence. These terms govern your Hey Nellie account and use of our service.
What Hey Nellie is
Hey Nellie is a family organisation assistant. Nellie can turn what you tell her into reminders, tasks, lists, calendar events, notes, and household updates, and can store documents you choose to upload.
Features and availability may differ by device, subscription, country, household role, or app version.
Eligibility and your account
When you create or use an account:
- You must be at least 16 to create an account independently. Hey Nellie does not currently offer independent child accounts.
- A parent, guardian, or other authorised account holder may add information about children to organise family life. Do not give a child your password or let anyone use your account without your permission and supervision.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details and devices secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from a failure by us to protect the service.
- Tell us promptly at hello@heynellie.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
Households, personal content, and shared content
Hey Nellie lets you keep some information personal and share other information with selected household members. Content placed in a shared household space can be seen and, depending on permissions, acted on by the members who have access to that space.
Only invite people who should have access to the household, review household membership regularly, and remove access when it is no longer appropriate. Removing a member stops future access but cannot undo actions already taken or information they already saw or copied.
You are responsible for choosing what to share and for ensuring you have the right to add information about other people. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal and shared information is handled.
Your content
Your tasks, notes, messages, documents, photos, recordings, and other content remain yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and operate Hey Nellie for you and your household, follow your requests, and comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to the limited retention described in our Privacy Policy.
Do not upload anything unlawful, harmful, infringing, or confidential unless you have the right and a proper reason to store and share it. Keep your own copy of irreplaceable documents; Hey Nellie should not be the only place where an important original is stored.
AI suggestions and important decisions
Nellie's replies and summaries are generated by AI. AI can misunderstand a request, miss context, or produce incomplete or incorrect information. Check important reminders, dates, amounts, names, travel details, and document summaries against the original source before relying on them.
Nellie is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, counsellor, or other professional, and its responses are not professional advice. Do not rely on Hey Nellie to diagnose, treat, or make an urgent decision. Hey Nellie is not an emergency service; contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional when needed.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how Amazon Bedrock processes user requests, where information is stored, who may receive it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. Please read it before using Hey Nellie.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the service unlawfully, fraudulently, to harass or harm anyone, or to create or distribute unlawful or exploitative content.
- Upload malware, interfere with the service, overload it, scrape it, bypass limits or security controls, or access another person's account or content without permission.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, modify, resell, or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Impersonate another person, misrepresent your authority, or use the service in a way that infringes another person's rights.
Subscriptions and billing
Some Hey Nellie features require a paid subscription. The price, billing period, included features, and any trial or promotional terms are shown before purchase. Store prices may include or exclude taxes depending on your country and store account.
An iOS subscription is charged to your Apple Account and renews automatically for the displayed billing period unless you cancel it through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store subscription settings and restore eligible purchases through the app.
Deleting Hey Nellie, deleting your Hey Nellie account, or leaving a household does not cancel an app-store subscription. Cancel the subscription in the store before deleting your account if you do not want it to renew. Subject to these terms, paid access normally continues until the end of the period already paid for.
App-store purchases and refunds are processed under the store's terms and policies. We do not control the store's refund decision, but nothing in these terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our intellectual property and your licence
Hey Nellie, including the app, website, brand, design, software, features, and content we provide, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer that ownership to you.
While your account is active and you follow these terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose. App-store usage rules and the applicable standard store licence also apply to the downloaded app.
Third-party services
Hey Nellie relies on services provided by app stores, cloud providers, notification services, device platforms, and other contracted providers. Their separate terms may apply to the services they provide directly to you. We are not responsible for an independent third-party service, but we remain responsible for our own obligations under these terms and applicable law.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Hey Nellie available and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security work, network issues, provider outages, or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt the service.
We may add, change, limit, or retire features and may require you to install an update. If a change materially reduces a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and respect any rights available under applicable consumer law.
Suspension, cancellation, and account deletion
You can stop using Hey Nellie or delete your account at any time. Subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion and must be completed through the app store where you subscribed.
We may restrict, suspend, or close an account where reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated breach of these terms, non-payment, fraud, unlawful activity, security risk, harm to another person, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to address it.
When an account is deleted, we handle its content and personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including intellectual-property, payment, disclaimer, liability, and dispute provisions, remain effective after the account ends.
Disclaimers and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a guarantee, warranty, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hey Nellie is provided "as is" and "as available". We exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or decisions made in reliance on AI-generated content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Hey Nellie during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or SGD 100. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over disputes. This does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections or a right to bring a claim in another country where applicable law gives you that right.
Please contact hello@heynellie.app first so we can try to resolve a concern promptly and fairly.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or applicable requirements change. The "Last updated" date shows the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice in the app or by email where practicable. If you do not agree to updated terms, you should stop using the service and cancel any subscription before the changes take effect.
General
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our permission. We may transfer these terms as part of a merger, reorganisation, financing, or sale of our business, subject to applicable law.
